Unique Aspects:
The way Orphanage Cocktail Emporium or “Orphanage” as commonly known has been branded gives it a truly unique characteristic and this branding has been carried through into the bar staff attire, as well as the menu. A massively popular part of the experience are the cocktails offered, which include some served in tea cups with cucumber sandwiches. The venue was full all night and a steady flow of fresh faces come through the doors throughout. Bouncers and facilities also top quality.
The success of the night you have at Orphanage depends largely on the crowd. On my last visit, the place was packed and you literally couldn’t move, the bar was also like an oasis in the desert which you can never reach – something I also did not realise is that the drinks are quite expensive (R22.00 for a bottle of Peroni) . So my advice is that if it is too full, head on.
Hey Alex, please forgive us, we’re only tiny, but we have a second part – The Dining Room on Orphan Street – opening this December (2012) which will offer more space, inside & out & a second bar. Our cocktails [email protected] R40, beers from R20 & food from R35… When we’re busy, just catch the eye of one of our serving staff who will ensure you get a drink in a tick-tock!
Nice to hear. Thanks guys, look forward to seeing the new spot.
